Where This Filter Sits in a Whole-House System
Installed as Stage 1 in a whole-house filtration system
Removes fine sediment before water reaches carbon, PFAS, or specialty media filters
Nano silver treatment helps inhibit microbial growth on the filter surface during service life
Not designed to remove chlorine, PFAS, bacteria, viruses, or dissolved chemicals
Why Choose the Antibacterial Sediment Filter
Helps reduce bacterial buildup on the filter media in warm or humid environments
Ideal for properties with low water usage, long service intervals, or stagnant lines
Improves filter hygiene compared to standard polyspun sediment cartridges
Premium upgrade for customers wanting an added layer of protection within their system
-
This filter provides the same 1 micron sediment removal as a standard polyspun cartridge, with the added benefit of nano silver antibacterial treatment designed to inhibit microbial growth on the filter media during use.
-
No. This filter should not be relied on to disinfect water or kill bacteria, viruses, or microorganisms in the water supply. It is designed to reduce bacterial growth on the filter itself, not to sterilise water.
-
This filter is recommended for warm climates, holiday homes, low-usage properties, or systems with extended service intervals where water may remain stagnant for periods of time.
-
Pressure drop is minimal and unnoticeable when the filter is clean. Any reduction in flow typically indicates sediment buildup and signals that replacement is due
-
Replacement is typically recommended every 6–12 months, depending on incoming water quality, system usage, and sediment load.
When to Replace This Filter
Replace this filter approximately every 6–12 months, depending on incoming water quality, system usage, and sediment load.
You may need to replace the cartridge sooner if you notice:
A drop in water pressure throughout the home
Visible discolouration of the filter media
Increased sediment appearing at fixtures or appliances
While the antibacterial nano silver treatment helps inhibit microbial growth on the filter media, it does not extend the filter’s sediment-holding capacity. Replacement should be based on performance, not appearance alone.
Compatibility Note
This cartridge is designed for all Pure₂O Water Filtration systems, and all other standard 20” x 4.5” Big Blue–style filter housings only.
It is not compatible with:
Slimline filter housings
10” filter systems
Under-sink or point-of-use housings
