What’s Included in This Three-Stage Set
Stage 1 – 1 Micron Polyspun Sediment Filter
Removes dirt, rust, sand, silt, and fine sediment to protect downstream carbon filters and maintain system flow.
Stage 2 – 1 Micron Coconut Carbon Block Filter
Reduces chlorine, chemical taste and odour, and common VOCs. Improves overall water taste and smell throughout the home.
Stage 3 – 0.5 Micron Coconut Carbon Block Filter
Provides a finer carbon polishing stage, increasing contact time to further improve taste, odour reduction, and final water clarity.
-
This pack includes all three cartridges for the standard Pure₂O whole-house system (20” x 4.5” housings):
Stage 1: 1 micron sediment (polyspun)
Stage 2: 1 micron coconut carbon block
Stage 3: 0.5 micron coconut carbon block
It’s a full swap-out set for your next service.
-
This set of filters are designed for whole-house water quality improvement, especially on town water:
Sediment: dirt, rust, sand, silt (Stage 1)
Chlorine taste & odour + many VOCs: improved smell/taste across the home (Stages 2–3)
It’s the “daily driver” set for cleaner water at every tap.
-
It will reduce some chemicals to varying degrees, but if someone is specifically buying for PFAS or chloramine, this is not the right product to promise that outcome.
For PFAS/chloramine-focused filtration, use the premium catalytic carbon PFAS/chloramine cartridge. -
Most homes replace the full set every 6–12 months, depending on usage and water quality. Replace earlier if you notice:
a pressure drop (often Stage 1 loading up)
the sediment cartridge turning brown/grey
chlorine taste/odour returning sooner than expected
-
When clean and installed correctly, they’re designed to maintain normal household pressure.
Pressure issues usually come from a blocked Stage 1 sediment filter (or a system that’s overdue). If pressure drops, Stage 1 is the first thing to check/replace. -
This set suits standard 20” x 4.5” (Big Blue style) housings used in most whole-house systems, including all Pure₂O whole-house filtration systems.
If you’re unsure, check the label on your housings or measure your current cartridges end-to-end (20”) and diameter (4.5”).
When to Replace
Replacement timing depends on water quality and household usage, but typical guidance is:
Every 6–12 months for average households
Earlier replacement may be required if you notice:
Reduced water pressure
Noticeable drop in taste or odour performance
Visible discolouration of the sediment filter
Regular replacement ensures consistent performance and protects plumbing and appliances.
Compatibility
Designed for standard 20” x 4.5” whole house filter housings only
Compatible with most Big Blue–style three-stage systems
Not intended for undersink or benchtop filtration systems
